Mean value for 1923-29 followed by moving five year average represented by the middle year e.g. 2018-2022=2020. No data for the years 1927-1954.

Formally protected areas

The Swedish NFI did not inventory within formally protected areas before 2003. For a harmonized comparison for all the time points included here, formally protected areas based on the most current boundaries must therefore be excluded for the entire time series. However, a comparison for all land can be made for the time before the main allocations of formally protected areas began, i.e. 1926-1965, and from 2005 onwards (equivalent to 2003-07).

Landuse class
